It has the special hour and minute totalizer as well at 12 o’clock which is intended to make the chronograph reading more intuitive.
One of the differences between this replica IWC Ingenieur Chronograph Sport Edition “50th Anniversary of Mercedes-AMG” and the other watches equipped with the caliber 89361 is apparent when you look at the case back. All the hands related to the chronograph function are in red, while the ones dedicated to telling time are in black. The dial is completed by a date window at 3 o’clock and in a final touch to the motorsport theme, a tachymeter scale around the edge – a feature that, while not particularly useful in this day and age, was definitely expected on such a watch.
All of this is housed in a 44mm titanium case rated for 120m of water-resistance, with a screw-down crown and rectangular pushers. The replica IWC’s relationship with Mercedes-AMG goes back to 2004 and has resulted in multiple limited editions, several with unique case materials like boron carbide. This watch represents another milestone in that continuing relationship.
I said before that this edition had an especially light premium over the non-limited model. Don’t mistake it in the photos here for a rattrapante – it has central chronograph seconds and minute hands. There’s also a chronograph hour counter at three o’clock and a small seconds register at nine o’clock. Unlike that model, it comes in a classically styled Luminor 1950 case with a polished bezel, and the 15-minute countdown is placed on the dial’s rehaut, between nine and 12 o’clock.
I guess that you may wonder, as I did when I first saw this replica watch, how you quickly get the chronograph minute hand in position at the start of the countdown. The answer: by pushing the button located at four o’clock, set into the crown guard. Each press moves the hand back by one minute. It’s quite a clever execution really, and the placement of the countdown in the fourth quarter of the dial allows for the addition of a nautical tachymeter scale too.
This model looks very much the part of your typical replica Panerai. It has a deep black dial and a full complement of those slightly bubbly Arabic numerals for the hours, rendered in a golden hue that is meant to look well-aged. This model actually is the first split-seconds chronograph movement made in-house by Breitling. It is chronometer-certified and is an automatic movement that is visible through the sapphire case back, which is a really pleasant touch. The finishing is elegant and the rotor, floating over the top of the chronograph works, is branded with the Breitling name. It is significant to stress that this movement was all made in-house, showing that Breitling is making serious moves in a market where people would consider the craftsmanship, not just the mass-produced cheap watches. A rattrapante is one of the harder sophistications to engineer, and the replica Breitling deserves real credit for tackling it.
Apart from making its own in-house rattrapante, the Breitling replica also equipped the start-stop mechanism with a special isolating mechanism to save power. To me, the Patek Philippe item is the only other watch to use something like this. Breitling’s mechanism has two patents and permits the movement to be much more effective. Basically, when you start the chronograph and stop the first chronograph hand, it is held in isolation, separated from the still-running train, creating less friction. When you press the button again, the hand is re-connected and keeps on as usual.
The Navitimer Rattrapante is acceptable in two cases, steel and red gold. It measures a whopping 45mm in diameter, so it still falls into the ridiculously large territory. The case shape itself is similar to the original Navitimer, with the thin ridged bezel and turn-down lugs. The chronograph pushers are round and large enough for easy operation, just how you would want them to be, and the split-seconds function is activated by a button set into the crown. Action on all the functions is crisp and clean, though we got limited time with this piece at Baselworld (and are looking forward to exploring it further soon).
The brown dial falls right on trend with the faux-patina epidemic we saw at Baselworld. To be clear, I still have not determined how I feel about this trend – the watch manufactures are kind of damned if they do and damned if they don’t. People wanted vintage-inspired replica watches and got a faux patina, which looks great but in reality, just doesn’t feel as cool in theory.
The dial on the new Breitling Navitimer is very similar to a vintage tropical dial and features three registers and a date window. The date window is placed between four and five o’clock, which is probably my least favorite place to put a date window. I’ll let you all fight to the death on that down in the comments section though. The red gold model is available on a leather, crocodile, or rubber strap, while the steel has all these options plus a steel bracelet available as well.
The steel version is available with a linked bracelet, but the red gold version is only available on the bracelets. As a whole, I guess that this is a very nice release from Breitling. It indicates that the brand is taking real watchmaking more seriously, and in a big way. It is clear that time and effort was put into coming up with something exciting that mixes innovation and heritage, and even if this cheap watch is not for me on a personal level, I can see how others might want to order it.

Top Quality Piaget Chronograph Replica Watch

I was greatly shocked to hear the news when Piaget released the new and Chronograph watches in July last year. Piaget replica has a sports watch in the FortyFive already, but a new luxury sports watch in steel seems nothing that I was expecting from them. But with the benefit of hindsight, a luxury sports watch in steel is something that Piaget really requires. The new Piaget and Chronograph watches are both curial and significant for the brand because, to begin with, their designs and layouts are more attractive to younger audiences. Secondly, they seemed rather more affordable than Piaget’s more typical ultra-thin and dressy watches. Therefore, these tips still exist in our mind that I check out the new Piaget Chronograph watch as well as the Chronograph in black ADLC with a rubber bracelet, the non-chronograph version of which we also included.
Before I begin with the topic of the Chronograph watch, it is worth making a quick recap of the new Piaget fake watches. Unofficially, the “S” stands for steel and sports. But perhaps more importantly, the design of these new watches has generated much chatter online, generally because of their resemblance to Patek Philippe’s Nautilus and Aquanaut. It is well-finished and combines elements of round and cushion-shaped cases for a rather distinctive look – the bezel is round and the cushion-shaped dial is somewhere between the two. Water-resistance is 100 meters, which is quite enough for a sports watch.
In the case of the Chronograph watch, I have to say that the entire dial is pretty well executed for its price. There’s a high level of finishing exhibited here. The applied indices are beveled to help catch the light and are neatly applied with Super-Luminova, as are the hour and minute hands.
The Chronograph is driven by Piaget’s 1160P movement, which has all the features you would expect from a modern high-end chronograph movement. More importantly, is the fact that there’s a display case back and that the movement is quite nicely finished. The main plate also features circular Côtes de Geneve with beveled bridges and blued screws. And, naturally, the black model has an anthracite balance wheel.

The case back – The simplest way to recognize a fake Rolex is to look at the watch’s case back, which is almost always plain metal. Size and color notwithstanding, these new replica Tag Heuer Carrera 01s are virtually the same as previous versions – Heuer 01 movement, 12-part modular case, and that richly skeletonized dial. As we talked about in the past, the changes in size and color make a huge difference.
The original version clocks in at 45mm across, and wears high. Of course, the titanium case construction and relatively short lugs make it light and tight on the wrist, but it’s still a big watch – too big for many people. This version doesn’t have that problem. At 43mm it’s still a large watch, but not overwhelmingly so. This small change alone will please a lot of people, and I’d be surely interested to see which size is more popular with customers in a year. One concern with a smaller diameter is that you lose some of the balance, depth, and richness of the dial design – this is a real concern on a skeletonized dial, which is full of intricacies. Thankfully though, not much is lost. The detail at the center of the dial is still the same, only the ‘framing’ is altered, with a narrower outer ring and shorter hour batons. I do think the indices on the 45mm version are a little more balanced, but that’s a minor detail.
The other aspect is just the color. Not only is the bezel now offered in brown or blue (as well as black), but dial details have been picked out in color as well – adding comparison, drama, and a whole lot of character. Both replica watches are especially suited to the leather straps and are particularly sophisticated packages. While the new Heuer 01 43mm versions lack the drama and excitement of top-line releases like the Autavia, they’re an excellent, wearer-friendly evolution of replica TAG Heuer’s bold new look.
